Kara DeBlois, LICSW
My specialties include working with adolescents, young adults and adults with issues pertaining to depression, anxiety, PTSD, panic, loss, and those struggling with self-injurious or other maladaptive behavioral patterns. Therapy is an active process of change. I believe therapy works best when the therapist and client work collaboratively towards identified goals. I strive to help clients use their innate abilities and resources to make positive, lasting changes in their lives.
I have been practicing for the past 12 years in a variety of settings. I have previous experience (6 years) in working as a Program Director for Partial Hospitalization Programs. I aim to empower those I work with utilizing a strengths-based approach with techniques from various evidenced based treatment modalities such as DBT and CBT. I have also completed Basic Training for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and also use the FLASH Technique. I am trained in Reiki 1 and 2.
I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can build on their strengths and find solutions or strategies to better manage challenges. I look forward to having the opportunity to support my clients on their journeys towards growth and overall wellness. I truly consider it a privilege to do what I do.
