Cheryl Coughlin, LMHC
Cheryl Coughlin, LMHC, BCPCC, MaCCS, is a seasoned mental health professional with more than 25 years of experience serving individuals, couples, and families. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor, and Certified Clinical Supervisor, Cheryl brings clinical depth, ethical integrity, and compassionate care to her work.
Cheryl is a graduate of the Master’s Program in Marriage and Family Therapy at Cambridge College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her professional foundation is enriched by more than a decade of service as a Stephen Leader with the Stephen Ministries program at South Shore Baptist Church, where she provided faith-informed support, training, and leadership within a care ministry context.
In her private practice, Cheryl offers counseling for individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma (including PTSD), attachment concerns, parenting challenges, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, and issues related to general wellness. She has particular interest in working with women, couples, and families.
Cheryl’s therapeutic approach is client-centered and relational. She believes that a strong therapeutic alliance is foundational to meaningful and lasting change—especially for those working through long-standing life difficulties as well as everyday stressors. Her integrative style incorporates psychoeducational interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative therapy, and Solution-Focused approaches, allowing treatment to be thoughtfully tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
