I grew up in Asbury Park New Jersey in the '70s and have the scars to prove it. After surviving overt polysubstance abuse myself, and wrestling with emotional struggles of my own, came out of it with a thorough understanding of what types of traps we fall into, and how many different ways we can crawl out of them. I've worked in a number of psych hospitals, ran a residential program, drug programs and a member of the Substance Use Disorder team at our local hospital. All that experience leaves me thinking outside the box all the time, every time, with everyone. Why? Because we are all so very different. No two of us are the same, and any approach to be successful in helping put addiction behind you has to be just as different: No textbook, no guide. I believe the key to a successful trip around the sun is to approach life's challenges with an open heart and the will to do better. If your heart is behind it, your head will follow. Recovery is like a lightning bolt, it zigs and zags, but it ultimately makes the connection- sometimes quickly, sometimes not, but if you're determined, the odds increase, and that's my mission: To increase the odds of success... the rest my friends, is up to you.
