I have been deep in my own decolonization and (my internalized) anti-racism work (as a mixed race Black woman). I am interested in working with people who are on their own journeys away from colonization, patriarchy, late stage capitalism… all the systems that keep us stuck, unhappy, repressed, and isolated. People who are yearning to be connected and in community. And are realizing that can be harder than it seems on the surface. I want to help folks understand how these systems negatively impact all of us and all the ways it shows up in our lives.
I enjoy helping people identify and set firm and clear boundaries, improve communication skills, connect the dots of childhood and how it shows up in your current life. As a parent myself, I am excited to work with other parents around these areas as children can trigger our childhood wounds. And we all know everyone always has something to say about our parenting choices! I am here to help you get clear on how you want to parent and feel confident in that. I am also perinatal adjacent.
I always hesitate to say that I specialize in any specific area, partly because I never want to oversell myself, and also because “specialize in” can have such a wide definition and how much can I specialize in an identity that I may not carry myself…? So instead I will say: I am neurodivergent, gender, trans, LGBTQIA+, and immigrant affirming. I am anti-zionist and pro human rights. I believe in collective liberation for all.
Therapeutic Style:
I will meet you exactly where you are on your journey and we will work together from there. I take a strengths-based approach, finding all the things you are good at and utilizing them to help you in your challenge areas. I respect that change can be hard & challenging. I approach my work with sensitivity, compassion, and when appropriate, a sense of humor.
