South Shore Coalition of Independent Therapists
Board of Directors
Kenneth Freedman, LICSW
Since graduating from Boston College with an MSW in 1997, I have been practicing psychotherapy with families, couples and individuals. For the last 12 years, I have been working exclusively in private practice on the South Shore and Cape Cod. In addition to working with the general scope of mental health issues, I have tailored my expertise to highlight men’s issues, clinical supervision, couples work and eating disorders. Prior to and during my studies at Boston College, I participated in extensive training through rotations on inpatient psychiatric hospitals and outpatient mental health clinics. In my last year at Boston College, I had the fortune to train as an intern at The Family Center in Somerville (now in Arlington) with supplemental training/consultation from Dr. Salvador Minuchin. This experience was instrumental in sparking my passion for psychotherapy guided by family systems theory. In 2000, I joined the Coalition as a general member. After speaking at a luncheon about men’s issues in January of 2005, I was invited to join the Board of Directors. Subsequently, I was elected to the office of President in November of that same year. It is an exquisite honor to hold the office of President. I am enthusiastic about the Coalition’s future, most especially this new website.
Helene A. Lieb, Ed.D.
I have been a board member for over 18 years and served as the Vice President since 1996. My major board responsibility is planning and organizing the Coalition luncheons. For the last 19 years, I have worked in Hingham, MA as a psychologist for Levin & Zangrillo, providing psychotherapy services for adolescent, adults and couples.
Ann E. Anderson, RN, MS, CS
I have been practicing in Hingham since 1988. I am an advance practice nurse, specializing in counseling with couples, individual, and children. My speciality areas include couples issues, grief and loss, women’s issues, and infertility issues all from a Christian perspective. I do various volunteer speaking engagements in the community and churches. I have been on the SSCIT board since 1990.
Liz Bailey, LMHC
Liz Bailey, LMHC, has been on the Board of Directors for SSCIT since August 2018. She is in private practice in Hingham, MA and specializes in women’s issues, wellness counseling, and pet loss and bereavement. Prior to private practice, she served as a mental health counselor and wellness specialist at Berklee College of Music for 15 years, providing therapy and wellness workshops for students, as well as consultations to parents, staff and faculty. Liz is a long-time meditation teacher and had been a yoga teacher for many years. She has also worked in community mental health and in the business world for several years, as well as having been a working artist and musician along the way.
It is an honor to have been asked to serve on the Board of Directors for SSCIT as of November, 2014. Before changing my professional path into mental health, I was a professional actor and singer, collaborating with a variety of interesting and talented individuals. I graduated from Lesley University with a Master’s in Expressive Arts Therapy and Mental Health Counseling, interning at Whittier Street Health Center followed by Boston Children’s Hospital’s Inpatient Psychiatry Unit, where I worked for four years as an Expressive Arts Therapist and Group Program Coordinator. In October of 2013, I expanded into private practice first in Hanover, and am now exclusively in Braintree. The majority of my training and interest lies in serving children, adolescents, young adults and their families through life’s variety of trials and tribulations. Along with my aspirations to teach and supervise, I consider myself a life-long learner. I cherish those moments when I am moved by my colleagues and clients through stories of resilience, humility, and perseverance. I look forward to collaborating with and advocating for the members of this great community.
Ann Hagan Webb, Ed. D.
Dr. Webb has been a member of the South Shore Coalition of Independent Therapists since its inception in 1985. She served as Secretary from 1985 to 1987, and as President from 1987 to 2002. Dr. Webb has been in private practice at South Shore Counseling Center in Norwell (formally in Hingham) since 1983, where she is Associate Director, and also maintains a private practice in Wellesley. Over the years her specialties have included children of divorce, adolescence, and most recently adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
